Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to serve in a dual role as a Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) in a long-term care setting. This unique opportunity is ideal for a motivated clinician with strong technical skills, leadership ability, and a passion for quality care.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, organized, and able to effectively lead a multidisciplinary team while also delivering hands-on therapy services. The position requires a productivity expectation of 70% clinical care, with the remaining time focused on departmental leadership.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical (COTA):
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Assist residents in achieving their functional goals through personalized, evidence-based care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Leadership (DOR):
- Lead, manage, and support the rehab department’s day-to-day operations.
- Schedule therapy staff, oversee department coverage, and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members.
- Conduct screenings and attend care plan meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, productivity goals, and documentation standards.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and clinically driven team culture.
Qualifications:
- Licensed COTA in the state of MO
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting required
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of interdisciplinary care and rehabilitation planning
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while accepting oversight and feedback
