Job Description
K-2 MFG specializes in precision sheet metal fabrication for the aerospace industry. We're looking for a positive, self-motivated welder who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and takes pride in producing tight-tolerance, flight-ready parts.
We have a Precision Welder position available now, working on aerospace components under AS9100 quality standards.
Qualifications
- AWS Certified (preferred)
- TIG welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and steel
- At least 3 years of precision sheet metal welding experience (aerospace or similarly regulated industry preferred)
- Able to set up and weld consistent structural and cosmetic welds
- Able to read and interpret welding symbols, engineering drawings, and welding specifications
- Able to hold tolerances of +/- .010" as required
- TIG welding: 2 years (required)
- Experience welding precision sheet metal to +/- .010" tolerances: 2 years (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Weld metal components using MIG or TIG methods and a variety of arc/gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair aerospace parts
- Set up fixtures and weld tight-tolerance jobs
- Review prints and routers to confirm correct materials and part accuracy
- Position and clamp fabricated metal components prior to welding
- Perform related tasks such as grinding
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and build up metal as needed
- Complete purchase requisitions for area supplies and submit for procurement
- Maintain and clean welding equipment and consumables
- Accurately complete router operations for each job
- Train coworkers as needed to support a positive workflow
- Perform set-up, first-piece, and in-process inspections per AS9100 requirements
- Partner with the Production Supervisor and Safety Manager to maintain a safe welding area
- Clock in/out accurately for each operation
- Follow the production schedule unless otherwise directed
- Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the work area daily
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Overtime as needed.
