Job Summary of the Industrial Engineer: The Industrial Engineer will oversee identifying issues hindering product flow, applying lean principles to eliminate process bottlenecks, and reducing work in progress (WIP). Responsibilities include managing the IE operators and technicians, offering guidance, and enhancing their skills and performance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer:
- Implement site lean initiatives such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D to eliminate waste and boost productivity.
- Drive professional development for facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by acting as a proactive change agent fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across all functional areas, including manufacturing and office spaces.
- Develop detailed project plans, oversee project execution, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and savings targets
- Design equipment layouts, workflow, and safety measures to maximize plant and manufacturing facilities utilization.
- Manage equipment capital expenditures, from design and vendor selection to procurement and implementation
- Collaborate with Operations Manager and Site Leadership Team to create a continuous improvement strategy for top-notch performance
- Enhance capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.
Education & Experience Requirements of Industrial Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering is a MUST!
- Minimum of 5 years of Industrial Engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Industrial Services Data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem-solving
- Demonstrated expertise in throughput improvement processes
- Knowledge of LEAN principles
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and flexible with shifting priorities to focus on critical tasks
