Responsibilities
- Perform meat cutting, trimming, slicing, and portioning using various butchery tools and meat processing machines to meet customer specifications.
- Prepare and package meat products efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Conduct visual inspections for quality control, ensuring all perishable goods are fresh, properly stored, and meet safety standards.
- Operate meat processing equipment safely and effectively, adhering to food safety management protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and adhere strictly to sanitizing procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
Experience
- Previous experience in a food production or butchery environment is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with meat processing machine operation, knife skills, and meat cutting techniques such as trimming and slicing is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, visual inspection for quality control, and perishable goods management is required.
- Familiarity with food handling regulations within the food industry or culinary settings will be advantageous.
- Basic math skills for weight measurement, yield calculations, and inventory management are necessary.
- Kitchen or culinary experience that includes meat handling or other food preparation skills will be considered a plus.
