Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Non-CDL Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating vehicles to transport passengers or goods, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate non-commercial vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or specialized transport vehicles to pick up and drop off passengers or deliver goods.
- Follow all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and emergency response procedures for transportation to ensure safety at all times.
- Respond quickly to traffic changes, road conditions, and unexpected delays while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with mobility challenges or special needs, demonstrating compassion and excellent customer service.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles, checking mechanical conditions and ensuring safety equipment is functional before each trip.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members using clear language; may include multilingual communication skills for diverse communities.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; specific endorsements may be preferred based on vehicle type.
- Experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and emergency stop procedures for transportation safety.
- Basic first aid certification (CPR training preferred) and familiarity with emergency response procedures related to transportation incidents.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and handle mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse populations including children and seniors.
- Strong behavior management skills for working with children or individuals requiring additional support; experience in childcare or teaching is beneficial.
- Knowledge of school policies related to transportation and child safety standards is advantageous.
