Position Overview
Achieve Academy is seeking exceptional College Essay Specialists who are passionate about helping students discover and communicate their authentic stories. Rather than simply editing essays, our specialists mentor students through a thoughtful process of reflection, narrative development, and strategic storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Coach students through brainstorming, self-reflection, and personal narrative development.
- Guide students in writing Common App Personal Statements, UC Personal Insight Questions, supplemental essays, scholarship essays, and honors program applications.
- Help students identify meaningful experiences, values, intellectual curiosity, and future aspirations.
- Provide detailed developmental feedback while preserving each student's authentic voice.
- Collaborate closely with admissions consultants and academic strategists to ensure essays align with each student's overall application strategy.
- Maintain knowledge of essay expectations across leading universities.
- Meet regularly with students and families to review progress and establish application timelines.
Qualifications
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Experience coaching college application essays.
- Background in journalism, creative writing, English, communications, education, or admissions consulting preferred.
- Strong understanding of narrative structure and persuasive storytelling.
- Ability to mentor students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience with highly selective university applications is highly preferred.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
