Job Overview
Seeking an experienced accountant to work with the Office Manager at Admiral Church as we modernize and streamline our accounting system in three phases.
Phase One: Clean up current system by
- Reviewing Current QuickBooks setup
- Cleaning up chart of Admiral accounts
- Reviewing current balance sheet
- Implementing special requests as able
- Maintaining current reports
Phase Two: Prepare for church future in an affordable housing project by
- Creating new and improved chart of Admiral accounts
- Align budget template with Quickbooks
- Prepare for operations post-redevelopment project
- Preserve historical records through external digital storage
Phase Three: Ongoing support
- Provide periodic support as requested to Office Manager
- Conduct quarterly reviews of church accounts
- Meet with Office Manager quarterly for check-ins
Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks; strong Excel skills including data analysis
- Deep understanding of non-profit accounting standards, governmental accounting practices, securities law considerations, and public accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of federal and state reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Strong analytical skills for financial report writing and interpretation alongside budgeting and forecasting expertise.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating with others on financial management initiatives.
- Ability to mentor team members effectively while managing multiple priorities.
