The Lakes of Jefferson is seeking compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medication Technicians (Med Techs) to join our assisted living team.

Position Summary
The Medication Technician (Med Tech) is responsible for assisting with the safe and accurate administration of medications in accordance with physician orders, resident service plans, community policies, and applicable state regulations.
In addition to medication responsibilities, Med Techs provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living and help residents maintain their independence, dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer or assist residents with medications in accordance with physician orders, community policies, and applicable regulations
- Accurately document medication administration on the Medication Administration Record (MAR/eMAR)
- Follow established medication management procedures, including proper storage, documentation, and medication counts
- Monitor residents for changes in condition, behaviors, medication reactions, or other concerns and promptly report findings to the appropriate nursing or leadership team member
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation as needed
- Respond promptly and compassionately to resident needs and requests
- Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support to residents
- Assist with meal service and encourage appropriate hydration and nutrition
- Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe resident environment
- Follow infection control, safety, emergency, and resident care procedures
- Participate in shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity of care
- Perform additional resident care duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Qualifications
- Medication Technician certification or medication administration credential as required by applicable state regulations
- Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, senior living, or long-term care preferred
- Experience with medication administration or medication assistance preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
- Ability to recognize and appropriately report changes in resident condition
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and resident-focused
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Must meet all applicable background, health, training, and employment requirements
