Commissioning Process Engineer, Semiconductor
ROSS is hiring in the USA.
ROSS is an engineering and commissioning group with nearly 30 years of delivery in semiconductor, data centre, life sciences and pharmaceutical facilities. With offices in Arizona, Oregon and New York, we are growing our US commissioning team and we are looking for a Commissioning Process Engineer to join us on a major semiconductor programme.
This is a chance to work on one of the most technically demanding facility types in the world, alongside a senior team drawn from the industry's best, on systems that most engineers never get near.
What you will do
You will plan, execute and turn over process systems on an active semiconductor construction site, working directly with the owner, design teams, contractors and equipment vendors. Day to day that means:
- Developing and executing commissioning plans, procedures and test protocols for process systems
- Leading pre functional and functional testing, FAT, SAT and integrated systems testing
- Reviewing P&IDs, design documents, equipment submittals and turnover packages
- Running system walkdowns, punch list management and issue resolution through to completion
- Supporting startup, operational readiness and operator training
- Producing commissioning reports and final system acceptance packages
The systems you will commission
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: specialty gas, bulk gas, chemical distribution, ultrapure water (UPW), reverse osmosis, wastewater treatment, process cooling water, chemical waste, process vacuum, process exhaust, scrubbers and abatement, clean dry air, nitrogen distribution, and cleanroom HVAC.
What you will bring
- A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process or a related engineering discipline
- 3+ years in commissioning, startup, operations or process engineering within semiconductor, pharmaceutical or advanced manufacturing facilities
- Confidence reading P&IDs, process flow diagrams and construction drawings
- Working knowledge of ASME, SEMI, NFPA, ISA and applicable local codes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across construction, engineering, vendors and operations
Semiconductor project experience, integrated systems testing exposure, cleanroom and contamination control knowledge, or a CCP or PMP certification will all strengthen your application, but none are dealbreakers.
Why ROSS
- Real semiconductor work. You will commission live process systems on a flagship fab, not sit on the periphery
- Senior leadership involvement at every stage. Our engineers are backed, not left on site to figure it out alone
- A growing US business with genuine progression as our project portfolio expands
- An international group with delivery across the US, Europe and APAC, opening doors well beyond a single project
If you have commissioned process systems in semiconductor, pharma or advanced manufacturing and want your next project to matter, we want to hear from you.
