We're a family owned and operated commercial new-construction plumbing contractor that has been in business over 50 years and we care about you and what you represent. We're seeking a motivated new-construction commercial plumber with at least 3 years experience. The plumber must be licensed in the state of Connecticut. Pay is competitively priced and includes benefits such as tool reimbursement, 401k, medical, dental, vision, and foreman's bonus. Prevailing wage work is available. The position will include, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
- Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids
- Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
- Assemble fittings and valves for installation
- Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building
- Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary
- Collaborate with contractors, construction workers and electricians in installing and repairing plumbing
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
- Analyze problems and identify appropriate tools and materials for repair
- Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building
- Follow health and safety standards and complies with building codes
- Write report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken if necessary
- Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
- Prepares bids and schedules and oversees other workers, such as apprentices and helpers
