Overview
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and energetic Transportation Driver / Activities Assistant to join our team at Hood River Post Acute. Position Overview
This role is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from appointments, outings, and facility-related trips using the facility van. When transportation duties are not required, this position assists the Activities Director in planning and facilitating engaging activities for our residents.
Transportation Duties:
- Safely operate the facility van to transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations
- Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including proper use of seat belts and mobility devices
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the facility vehicle
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding transportation schedules and resident needs
Activities Support Duties:
- Assist the Activities Director with group and individual activities
- Help set up and clean up activity spaces
- Encourage resident participation and engagement
- Provide one-on-one interaction for residents as needed
- Support special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience driving a larger vehicle/van preferred
- Compassion for working with elderly and medically complex individuals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assist residents with mobility needs (including wheelchair transport)
- Ability to pass background check and meet healthcare employment requirements

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
