We are seeking an Accounting Department Manager to fill a position to lead the Accounting Department located in Carlinville, IL. Area Diesel Service is a remanufacturer of fuel and exhaust system diesel engine components and diesel parts supplier.
Purpose of Job:
The Accounting Department Manager is responsible for the operational performance of their department ensuring that Area Diesel Service, Inc. is represented professionally, ethically, with high code of conduct, to achieve financial and commercial targets; responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and accounting functions; expected to take initiative in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures towards accurate reporting; and forecasting the financial health of the company.
Essential Job Function & Performance Standards:
- Maintain accurate records to reflect the financial condition of the company’s case management and reconciliation.
- Provide financial reporting to management including Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements.
- Negotiate and manage employee Healthcare Insurance annually
- Process New Hire Employees and maintain employee records including W-4 forms.
- Verify and Pay Accounts Payable monthly accounts
- Manager employee expense reports, including verification of expenses and reimbursements.
- Prepare and process Quarterly Reports for State and Federal Taxes.
- Prepare year-end employee W-2’s and process 1099’s for appropriate vendors.
Education / Requirements:
- Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in accounting
- 3+ Years of Experience in accounting / financial reporting areas
Skills:
- Must be PC proficient and have experience with Quickbooks, Word and Excel.
- Solid/effective communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
- Must be able to use discretion due to handling of the company and employees’ sensitive/confidential financial and/or personnel details.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Benefits / Details:
This position offers a Monday through Friday 8a-5p day shift schedule with no nights or weekends. Paid time off and vacation begin accruing from the time of employment. This position offers competitive wages along with health insurance coverage with additional policy options and profit sharing.
