Assistant Production Manager

Position Summary
The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in overseeing daily landscape maintenance operations, employee development, customer satisfaction, quality control, safety performance, and operational efficiency.
This role serves as a key link between field teams, Account Managers, Irrigation teams, and branch leadership to ensure customers receive exceptional service and crews have the support needed to succeed.
The Assistant Production Manager is expected to spend significant time in the field coaching employees, inspecting properties, supporting customer needs, and ensuring work is completed according to LPT standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
- Assist the Production Manager in coordinating daily maintenance operations.
- Monitor property conditions and service quality.
- Ensure crews have the labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform work efficiently.
- Support scheduling and resource allocation.
- Assist with weather-related operational adjustments.
- Ensure company standards are consistently maintained across assigned properties.
Field Leadership & Employee Development
- Provide daily coaching and support to crew leaders and field employees.
- Conduct jobsite visits and quality inspections.
- Train employees on safety, quality, productivity, and customer service expectations.
- Assist with employee onboarding and ongoing development.
- Help identify high-potential employees for future leadership opportunities.
- Promote a positive culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Customer Service & Quality Control
- Conduct routine property inspections.
- Support Account Managers in addressing customer concerns and service requests.
- Assist in resolving quality issues quickly and professionally.
- Participate in customer meetings and property walks when needed.
- Ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce company safety policies.
- Participate in safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure crews maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Support compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Enhancement & Growth Support
- Identify enhancement opportunities while conducting property inspections.
- Assist Account Managers with estimating and scoping enhancement work.
- Monitor enhancement project execution as assigned.
- Support branch revenue growth initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with labor tracking, productivity reporting, and operational metrics.
- Review field documentation and work records for accuracy.
- Support equipment accountability and maintenance tracking.
- Utilize Aspire and other company systems effectively.

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of landscape maintenance, landscape operations, or related field experience.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Experience supervising multiple landscape crews.
- Aspire experience.
- Irrigation knowledge.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Business, or related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to walk properties and job sites daily.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to travel between customer locations throughout the DFW Metroplex.
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000
