FirstHealth of the Carolinas—a private, not-for-profit healthcare network recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as a Top 150 Place to Work (three consecutive years)—is seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our established occupational medicine and wellness-focused service on a part-time basis (2–4 shifts per month).
Position Highlights:
- Autonomous practice environment suited for seasoned professionals comfortable practicing independently.

Will provide coverage for Troy, Sanford, Southern Pines and Hamlet.

Hours are 8am-5pm.

Perform pre‑placement, routine, and exit physical examinations for employees.

Provide timely and accurate diagnosis, treatment for employees and dependents, and management of work-related injuries and illnesses for employees.

Advise employees on workplace health, safety, and injury‑prevention strategies. Hourly rate plus paid malpractice with tail coverage.

Qualifications:
- PA must be a graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and have NCCPA certification.

NP must be a graduate of a nurse practitioner education program and have national certification.

Minimum 3 years of APP experience required, prior Occupational Health experience preferred.

Other preferred qualifications include background in workers comp, working at employer sites, experience conducting veteran exams and/or NC disability exams.

Must have a clean background, NC licensure, and NC DEA.

DOT certification, and AHA BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.

CAOHC and NIOSH certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
