Tuesday-Saturday schedule: 7am-4:30pm
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The responsibility of an Experienced Dispatcher is to coordinate and manage the delivery of petroleum products to various locations around the Twin Cities and surrounding communities. This position is pivotal in ensuring Kane Transport provides a safe, professional, reliable service to our customers and employees while creating a positive culture. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills in order to manage the logistical scheduling of the delivery of loads.
The Inver Grove Heights terminal primarily hauls various petroleum loads for long-standing customers in and around this market.
RESPONSBILITIES:
Team-Focused
- As a member of Kane’s dispatch team, this position works hand-in-hand with our drivers, fellow dispatchers, and customers to schedule and dispatch petroleum loads to be delivered to various locations around the area.
- Customer service and communications skills will provide success in this role.
- Collaboration with Operations, Sales, and the customer is critical to ensure the timely delivery of product.
- Creating a positive environment for all team members that centers on service to our drivers, customers, and the company.
Solution-Driven
Be a part of the Solution. In this position, an individual will continuously monitor our fleet of professional drivers and fulfillment of customer orders. This role is also responsible for identifying and resolving any issues or delays related to the successful delivery of a customer’s load. This includes breakdowns, inclement weather& traffic delays, inventory levels, and dispatch schedule.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
This role is responsible for maintaining and tracking records of scheduled deliveries of loads, customer usage levels, and all relevant data regarding the lifecycle of a dispatch schedule.
Safety is First
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, including state and local laws, will assist in this position. Working with our professional drivers to keep them safe and compliant with those rules and regulations, and provide guidance on our safety protocol and procedures.
- Utilizing your knowledge of ELD platforms, Hours of Service, TMW for dispatch, etc. will help to maintain our company’s safety score and driver’s record.
NECESSARY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in transportation dispatching, logistics, preferably within the petroleum industry is a plus, but willing to train well-qualified candidates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, using dispatch software, notably TMW & Telepoint experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention-to-Detail – high level of verbal and written communication skills. Dedicated to problem-resolution
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations
