About the Role Golden Racket Academy connects players with vetted private coaches who deliver high-quality, one-on-one lessons at local courts. We are expanding our team across the Chicagoland area and are looking for experienced Tennis Pros, Pickleball Pros, or Dual-Sport Coaches ready to take on clients.
This is an independent 1099 contractor role designed for coaches who want complete schedule control. You set your availability, work with clients in your preferred parts of Greater Chicago, and coach strictly on your own terms. There are no fixed hours, no mandatory facility commutes, and zero floor fees.
Compensation
- Tennis Lessons: Up to $60/hr (Starting range: $40–$45/hr based on experience)
- Pickleball Lessons: Up to $55/hr (Starting range: $35–$40/hr based on experience)
- Note: Dual-sport coaches capable of teaching both Tennis and Pickleball are highly valued!

Responsibilities
- Deliver private, one-on-one lessons tailored to each client's skill level, style, and goals.
- Provide clear, actionable instruction on technique, footwork, stroke mechanics, strategy, and match play.
- Travel to local public, community, or HOA courts within your chosen Chicagoland service area (including neighborhoods and suburbs like Lincoln Park, Evanston, Naperville, and Highland Park).
- Communicate professionally and promptly with clients regarding scheduling and goals.
- Submit brief post-lesson notes through our website to track client development and process your payment.
What We Are Looking For
- Prior coaching experience or a strong competitive playing background in either sport:
- Tennis: NTRP 4.0+ preferred
- Pickleball: DUPR 3.5+ preferred
- Comfort working with players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced competitors.
- Reliable personal transportation to reach courts in your local area.
- A professional, punctual, and encouraging coaching style.
- Bonus: Teaching certifications (USPTA, PTR, PPR, IPTPA) are a strong plus, but not required.
- Bonus: Experience coaching both Tennis and Pickleball.
