Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Glazier to join our Team. As a Lead Glazier, you will oversee the installation, repair, and replacement of glass and glazing materials on commercial projects. Your expertise will ensure that all glass-related work is executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled glaziers, coordinate complex projects, and contribute to high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced and quick changing environment. The ideal candidate is must have a positive attitude, energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional results in glass installation and fabrication. Flexible schedule and travel is a must. Clean driving record is required.
Project and Field Leadership
- Blueprint execution: Review and interpret architectural drawings, shop specifications, and work layouts prior to installation.
- Crew supervision: Direct, mentor glaziers and field helpers on job site.
- Quality control: Inspect completed storefronts, curtain walls, and glass doors to guarantee adherence to building codes and quality standards.
- Make sure all team members understand the "next step" in the process to complete a project on time and properly.
Installation and Technical Operations of Mirrors/Storefront
- Precise fitting: Measure, cut, and secure heavy glass and mirror, frames, and aluminum storefront components.
- Material management: Coordinate deliveries/pickups, stage equipment, and report material shortages or discrepancies to management.
- Storefront installation: Fabricate, assemble, and properly anchor ground-level metal frames and heavy-gauge glass entrances.
- Lift operation: operate scissor lifts, and scaffolding safely.
- Laser leveling: Use transit levels and lasers to establish perfect horizontal and vertical benchmarks across long wall runs prior to storefront and mirror installations.
- Mechanical clearance: Coordinate exact field measurements for mirror cutouts around wall outlets, steps and any other obstacle needed to complete the install.
- Multi-panel alignment: Sequence and align massive mirrored sheets, ensuring tight uniformed vertical gaps.
Communication and Coordination
- Client liaison: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and project managers.
- Progress reporting: Maintain daily logs, track project timelines, and resolve technical issues in real time.
- Site coordination: Coordinate staging areas on busy sites alongside electrical, structural, and masonry or any other trades.
- Tool availability: Ensure all personal hand tools and specialized glazing gear are organized, functional, and ready for immediate deployment at start time.
- Keep a clean and Tidy and organized work vehicle at all times to avoid prolonged installation times and to keep a clean and professional appearance for our customers.
Attendance code of conduct
- Must be proficient with using Workforce for time keeping while on the clock. Constant job switching in the field through the app.
- Attendance and occasional site reporting on time is a must to prevent a delayed schedule for our clients.
- Absolute ZERO tolerance for Drugs/Alcohol of any kind at the office, vehicles or on any job site.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully to all team members and clients.
- 50% Travel is required with this job. Travel ID is needed. Will help to obtain a travel ID if you do not have one.
Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
