Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, injections, and medication management aligned with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Monitor patients’ conditions using telemetry systems and respond promptly to changes in vital signs or clinical status, demonstrating critical care response procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists on diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, imaging (e.g., sonography), and catheterization procedures.
- Provide education on disease processes, discharge planning, and post-acute care instructions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as suturing, catheter care, or sterile processing to prevent infections.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist with complex cases involving trauma medicine, infectious disease care, or patients with developmental disabilities and memory care needs.
Experience
- 1 year of PCU RN experience within the last 2 years.
