Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare has an immediate opening for a full time Recovery Ally. This position provides outreach to individuals in the community who are seeking assistance with recovery support or who may be ambivalent about recovery support, but are willing to talking with a Recovery Ally.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Work with community partners to identify high utilizers of the emergency departments and the jail system due to their substance use;

Provide non-contingent supportive relationship to targeted individuals. Mentor them in whatever their stage of recovery is and help them identify positive coping skills and healthy living activities.
- Assist in finding resources to assist in their recovery;

Provides encouragement and enthusiasm during skill development, naming and highlighting the achievement, capabilities and skills;

Act as a community resource, assisting in connecting individuals and families to local groups and organizations where, through participation, they will develop natural supports that will sustain them into the future;

The Recovery Ally is a partner with the CBH Substance Use Disorder Treatment Team, presenting a unified team approach to planning, service and plan implementation;

Complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner;

Attend all functions as assigned and on time;

Complete miscellaneous administrative duties in the addictions outpatient program;

Other duties as assigned and consistent with the purpose and intent of this position
Education/Experience Requirements:
Any combination of experience/training that will demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of this position may be considered.
- Ability to obtain peer recovery mentor (CRM) through MHACBO within
- Knowledge or ability to learn about Medicaid, Oregon Health Authority (OHA), and related State and Federal health care regulations to include Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) and statutes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized.

Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA (45 CFR, Part 164)), the Substance Use Confidentiality Regulations (42 CFR, Part 2), and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Have and maintain an Oregon or Washington Driver’s license and meet the agency’s insurance standards.

12 paid holidays and 6.77 hours of PTO accrued for years 1-3, increases after year 3. PTO accumulation starts at hire and is available for use as accumulated. Employees are eligible for elective training reimbursement of ($1000/yr for unlicensed clinicians and $1500/yr for licensed clinicians.) CBH also offers sabbatical of 176 hours after 10 years of service and annual elective training fund that includes 40 paid hours for training. Supervision towards licensure available.
