Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care strategies, to ensure safety and comfort
- Engage residents through social activities, conversation, and recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and memory care techniques
- Experience in providing personal care services within home & community or long-term care settings
- Familiarity with safe patient lifting practices, manual handling procedures, and the use of assistive devices like walkers or wheelchairs
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients who have cognitive disabilities or developmental disabilities
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required to ensure preparedness for emergencies
- Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout shifts
