Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition using advanced auto body repair techniques. You will work with a variety of materials, tools, and equipment to perform structural repairs, cosmetic refinishing, and precise detailing. Your expertise will ensure that every vehicle leaving our shop meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Conduct auto body repairs involving dent removal, panel replacement, sanding, and automotive cosmetic refinishing to restore vehicles to factory standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to execute precise repairs efficiently.
- Apply auto painting techniques, including airless paint spraying and automotive body refinishing, to achieve a flawless finish.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, trim pieces, and other components with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Use fabrication repair techniques for custom modifications or structural enhancements involving sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols during heavy lifting, welding operations, and the use of power tools.
- Collaborate with team members on auto restoration projects and provide excellent customer service by communicating repair progress clearly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar auto repair role; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair processes including welding (MIG welding), soldering, fabrication, and automotive structural repair.
- Hands-on experience with auto painting, auto restoration, sanding tools, detailing, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive parts installation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and estimates.
- Valid certifications in auto body repair or welding are a plus; ongoing training in automotive repair is encouraged.
