JOB SUMMARY: The Supervisor is responsible for operations in customer service and personnel in the absence of the Manager. Leading and managing the store while carrying out Farm Supply Company’s mission statement, value proposition and core values.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager
DUTIES:
- Customer Service
- Greet and acknowledge customers.
- Provide selling suggestions and recommendations to the customer, adhering to product labels and manufacturer recommendations.
- Process sales transactions in accordance with company sales policies, including discounting and customer maintenance.
- Ensure customers receive a high standard of service and help resolve service problems.
- Personnel Management
- Work with the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager to ensure that all employees are regularly trained in their assigned responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
- Work to ensure that all employees are trained on current products. Conduct product training as needed and/or coordinate with Training Specialist and vendors.
- Marketing
- Oversee stocking and merchandising of the department inventory including overall presentation, displays and proper care and maintenance.
- Assist with Farm Supply sponsored educational opportunities and events.
- Post or otherwise communicate information to employees, and back to managers as needed.
- Compliance with company policies and company safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Such other duties as may be assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS: The Supervisor works closely with the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Agents, and other store employees.
SKILLS:
Strong product knowledge with agriculture and home supplies.
Retail experience required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Able to interact successfully with customers and co-workers.
Professionalism in conduct and presenting of oneself.
Bilingual is preferred.
EQUIPMENT: The Supervisor will use the store computers and hand-held scanner and will have access to other general office machines in the store. The Supervisor will also handle razor knife or box cutter and operate forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and miscellaneous hand tools.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
At least 2 years of retail experience is preferred.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Background in products is required.

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
Able to bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, kneel and lift.
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
