Little Kingdom Builders Academy Inc. is seeking a passionate, dependable, and energetic VPK / Preschool Teacher to support young learners in a safe, nurturing, faith-based early learning environment.
Our academy is committed to helping children grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. In this role, you will lead a preschool classroom, implement daily lesson plans, support school readiness, and create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, structure, character development, and a love for learning.
This position is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who is organized, loving, professional, and confident in leading a classroom with excellence.
Duties
- Implement the school’s daily lesson plans and blended curriculum structure.
- Create a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Lead age-appropriate learning activities that support literacy, math, language development, school readiness, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
- Teach foundational preschool skills including letter recognition, letter sounds, numbers, counting, colors, shapes, early writing, and early math.
- Use hands-on learning, music, movement, creative arts, technology, and play-based learning to engage children.
- Support children’s spiritual and character development through kindness, prayer, positive guidance, and Christian values.
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times and follow proper classroom ratios.
- Use positive behavior guidance and classroom management strategies.
- Assist with meals, nap time, toileting routines, transitions, outdoor play, and classroom cleanup.
- Prepare daily classroom updates and communicate professionally with families.
- Observe children’s progress and share concerns or updates with leadership.
- Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance, lesson plan documentation, child observations, and required forms.
- Follow all Florida Department of Children and Families licensing rules, school policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and school events.
Experience and Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Child Development Associate Credential with Preschool Endorsement is required.
- Completion of 45 DCF-approved training clock hours is required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of preschool, childcare, or VPK teaching experience is required.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Must meet Florida DCF requirements for a lead preschool or VPK teacher.
- Must have strong classroom management and child supervision skills.
- Must understand early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with children, families, leadership, and team members.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must be comfortable working in a Christian, faith-based early learning academy.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Davenport, Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
- VPK teaching experience.
- Florida Child Care Professional Credential.
- Director Credential or additional early childhood education certifications.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with parent communication, classroom documentation, child observations, and lesson plan implementation.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to kneel, squat, stoop, crawl, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds. The teacher must be able to supervise children indoors and outdoors, participate in age-appropriate classroom activities, and respond quickly and calmly to children’s needs and emergencies.
