Here at LifeSwitch Driving Academy we are looking for exprienced DDS certified instructors and candidates that would like to become certified instructors. We can assist with certification and training.
Candidates with GA DDS Driver Training Instructor Certification can typically transfer to our school within two weeks.
Candidates needing certification will require approximately 14 to 21 days to complete the state certification prior to hiring.
Desired Schedule: 10-40+ hours per week- must be able to work some weekends and after school hours during the week.
Job Summary
Join our team as a Georgia State Certified Driving Instructor and help us develop the next generation of safe, confident drivers! In this role, you will use your own driving experience combined with training we will provide you to deliver comprehensive driver education programs.
We are looking for both part-time and full-time applicants and offer flexible schedules that include both weekday Behind the Wheel (BTW) lessons as well as weekend BTW lessons. In addition to the BTW driving instruction, you will also have the opportunity to teach state approved classroom instruction such as Joshau's Law.
Duties
- Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions with students, demonstrating proper vehicle control, maneuvering techniques, and defensive driving skills
- Deliver classroom instruction tailored to new drivers, ensuring clarity and understanding of traffic laws and safe driving practices
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to foster confidence and improvement
- Manage classroom environments effectively by maintaining discipline, encouraging participation, and creating a positive learning atmosphere
- Prepare students for licensing exams by reviewing key concepts, conducting practice tests, and offering guidance on test-taking strategies
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and certification documentation in compliance with state regulations
- Stay current with updates in traffic laws and driver education standards to ensure delivery of accurate and relevant instruction
Skills
- Proven experience in driving with a valid license and thorough knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Strong teaching abilities with experience working with diverse learners, including adults and beginners
- Effective communication skills to clearly convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact professionally with students of all backgrounds
- Ability to demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and motivational techniques to inspire student confidence
- Organizational skills for managing schedules, maintaining records, and preparing instructional materials
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
