Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cabinet Shop Foreman / Lead Cabinet Maker to oversee our custom cabinetry production and lead a skilled team of craftsmen. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the cabinet manufacturing shop, ensuring production schedules are met with precision and quality standards are upheld.
- Lead and mentor a team of cabinet makers and carpenters, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
- Interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately execute custom cabinetry projects.
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools for woodworking, and woodworking machines to ensure safe and efficient fabrication processes.
- Coordinate with project managers to review specifications, timelines, and client requirements for residential cabinetry and remodeling projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to strict safety protocols including power tool safety and proper handling of wood construction materials.
- Ensure all cabinetry installation tasks such as fixture installation, door hanging, siding, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing are completed to specifications.
- Assist with estimating material needs and construction estimating to optimize resources for each project.
- Conduct quality control inspections at various stages of production to guarantee craftsmanship excellence.
- Support restoration industry projects involving mold remediation, stucco repairs, rebar installation, plastering, or tile laying when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, carpentry, woodworking, residential carpentry, trim carpentry, framing carpentry, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of construction plans and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and heavy lifting equipment safely.
- Demonstrated experience in construction site management with an emphasis on safety protocols such as power tool safety.
- Familiarity with wood construction materials including siding, mold remediation supplies, metal studs, fixtures, doors, and other building components.
- Experience in remodeling projects or restoration industry work is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities on busy job sites or in the shop environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clients and team members seamlessly.
