This position works within the Juneau County Jail and is responsible for providing direct nursing care, treatment, and rehabilitation services to inmates, including individuals experiencing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and those receiving Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). Key duties include conducting medical assessments, administering medications, monitoring health conditions, coordinating care with physicians and mental health professionals, evaluating emergencies, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards and HIPAA requirements.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, this role supports correctional staff by providing training on medical procedures, safety practices, and intake protocols. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, effective documentation, and the ability to work independently within professional and legal guidelines.
