About Functional Nutrition Rx
At Functional Nutrition Rx, we believe that nutrition care should treat the whole person, not just symptoms or diagnoses. Founded by Christina Lombardi, MS, RDN, FMNS, our group practice blends evidence-based clinical nutrition, eating disorder recovery, and functional/root-cause testing to provide deeply individualized care.
We take pride in making expert, high-quality care accessible by accepting major insurance plans, taking the financial burden off our clients while helping them rebuild a peaceful relationship with food and body.
Position Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, and highly skilled Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (ED RD) to join our growing group practice. In this role, you will work with teens and adults navigating eating disorders (HAES® aligned, intuitive eating, trauma-informed care) and disordered eating.
Because we specialize in functional nutrition, you will have the unique opportunity to bridge eating disorder recovery with integrative and root-cause nutrition—addressing underlying gut health issues, hormone imbalances, or metabolic concerns when appropriate and safely indicated within recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial nutrition evaluations for clients presenting with eating disorders (AN, BN, BED, ARFID, OSFED) and disordered eating behaviors.
- Provide ongoing individual medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
- Collaborate closely with clients' multidisciplinary care teams (therapists, psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and gastroenterologists).
- Integrate functional testing (e.g., GI-MAP, hormone panels, food sensitivities) when clinically safe and appropriate to support physical healing alongside psychological recovery.
- Formulate individualized, realistic care plans tailored to each client’s lifestyle, labs, and personal goals—no rigid templates or restrictive diets.
- Complete clinical documentation in a timely, accurate manner according to practice standards and insurance compliance guidelines.
- Participate in practice team meetings, peer supervision, and case reviews mentored by leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Credentials: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialed through CDR; licensed (or eligible for licensure) in applicable state(s).
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience specializing in eating disorders and disordered eating. CEDRD credential or working toward CEDRD is a strong plus.
- Integrative Knowledge: Knowledge of or strong interest in functional nutrition, gut health, and hormone regulation within eating disorder recovery.
- Communication & Tech: Strong interpersonal, empathetic, and clinical communication skills; comfortable conducting virtual sessions via HIPAA-compliant EHR platforms.
- Self-Motivated: Able to work independently while remaining actively engaged with the practice team.
What We Offer
- Credentialing & Admin Support: We handle insurance verification, credentialing, billing, and administrative setup so you can focus on patient care.
- Mentorship & Professional Growth: Regular mentorship, case consultation, and clinical support guided by Christina Lombardi and our experienced group team.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling—build a schedule that fits your life with full remote/telehealth flexibility.
- Competitive Compensation: Hourly/per-session rate with room for growth.
