American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility.

68-bed Emergency Department in a busy urban Level 1 Trauma, Burn, and Stroke center serving 200+ patients per day
-
Treats a high-acuity mix of trauma, pediatric, stroke, STEMI, and burn patients
-
Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change based on surge and unit circumstances

Day shift, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM (11:00–23:00)

13-week contract

Weekends required as determined by facility

No call or on-call requirements

No floating required

EMR: Epic

Active RN license — must hold a Missouri RN license or be eligible for MO licensure (compact license accepted if eligible)

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only) and TNCC required
-
NIHSS certification required prior to start (candidates may be considered without it if obtained before assignment begins)

Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, OR minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 Trauma facility — trauma experience level must be reflected on the resume

Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs are not accepted)

Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and perform kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed

No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients of all age groups

Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary and interdisciplinary departments to optimize outcomes

Experience with trauma/peds, high-acuity cases, and high-volume environments (200+ patients/day) is preferred

Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
-
Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted

RTO of up to 5 days is permitted but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week

Only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment

Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
-
Candidates residing within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after that, a 1-year separation or relocation outside the 50-mile radius is required before returning
