American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Tech with at least 2 years of OR experience in a specialty area, including strong CVOR case experience, for a 13-week hospital OR/CVOR assignment in Charlotte, NC.

Work in a hospital OR/CVOR department with 13 ORs plus one procedure/cysto room, averaging 45 cases per day
-
CVOR cases include cardiothoracic (CABG, AVR, MVR, mini mitral, septal myomectomy), vascular (fistula creations, TCAR, carotid and femoral endarterectomy, bypasses, hybrid cases, dissections), and thoracic (VATS, robotic resections, lobectomies, pericardial windows)
-
Main OR cases span orthopedic, spine, general, colorectal, breast, podiatry, urology, robotic, GYN, and plastics
-
12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week

On-call requirements include 4–5 weeknight calls per 6-week schedule (shifts as early as 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and 1–2 weekend call rotations per 6-week schedule (Friday as early as 5:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM)

Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors

Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a specialty area (CVOR CST or equivalent) with most recent experience within the last year
-
Strong and recent experience scrubbing CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases required
-
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology education program required prior to start

BLS certification required
-
National certification (CST or equivalent) preferred
-
Experience scrubbing a broad range of OR cases including orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colorectal, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastics

License required if applicable

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible

Orientation for the Main OR is 1 week; CVOR orientation is 2 weeks; orientation is conducted over five 8-hour shifts

Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays

Department support includes OR assistants (6 weekday), a receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, and 24/7 anesthesia/CRNA coverage

Scrubs are provided by the facility
