Hatley Pointe's Lift Operator is responsible for safely operating ski lifts, assisting guests with loading and unloading, monitoring lift performance, and maintaining a safe environment on and around lift lines. This role is essential for ensuring smooth mountain operations and a safe, enjoyable experience for all guests.
Duties:
- Operate ski lifts (chairlifts, surface lifts, gondolas) according to established procedures.
- Ensure that all safety checks are completed prior to opening lifts each day.
- Monitor lift equipment for unusual sounds or malfunctions and report issues promptly.
- Enforce safety rules for guests, including proper loading and unloading.
- Assist guests in boarding and exiting lifts, including children, beginners, and those with special needs.
- Provide information about lift operations, mountain trails, and resort policies.
- Respond calmly and professionally to guest questions, concerns, or emergencies.
- Maintain constant communication with other lift operators and the mountain operations team.
- Keep the lift area clean, including removing debris, snow, or ice from boarding and unloading zones.
- Ensure signage, safety barriers, and protective equipment are in place and functioning properly.
- Maintain a professional, guest-oriented demeanor at all times.
