Position Summary:
Varicosity Vein Center is seeking a Vascular Sonographer/Registered Vascular Technologist to join our dedicated vein care team. In this role, you will perform non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies with a primary focus on venous insufficiency diagnostics and procedural support. This position provides coverage during high-volume periods, staff absences, and special events or campaigns. Ideal candidates will be experienced in vein mapping and reflux studies, with a commitment to patient care and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and document vascular ultrasound evaluations and post-treatment examinations safely and professionally.
Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures, including Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy and Varithena.
Communicate preliminary ultrasound findings to the physician for review and diagnosis.
Document ultrasound evaluations and enter preliminary reports into the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assist with patient room turnover, including cleaning, disinfecting, restocking, and preparing rooms between patients and procedures.
Assist with compression garment orders, including helping obtain necessary patient information, measurements, documentation, and coordinating orders as needed.
Help prepare patients and treatment areas for procedures and assist clinical staff with maintaining an efficient patient flow.
Maintain ultrasound equipment, exam rooms, and clinical areas in a clean, organized, and patient-ready condition.
Work collaboratively with physicians, providers, clinical staff, and administrative staff to ensure patients receive a seamless experience throughout their visit.
Provide occasional front-office support when needed, such as assisting with phones, patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, or other administrative tasks during high-volume periods or staff coverage.
Assist with other clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed to support the overall workflow of the practice.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited vascular ultrasound program or equivalent.
- Certification:
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS or
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of vascular imaging experience required.
- Vein clinic or outpatient vascular experience strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Expertise in venous reflux protocols and vein mapping
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational abilities
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist in patient positioning.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment or assist patients as needed.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise scanning.
Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
