William King Museum of Art is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Director of Finance and Administration to serve as the Museum's chief financial and administrative officer. This leadership position oversees all financial operations, budgeting, accounting, payroll, human resources, benefits administration, and compliance while supporting the Museum's mission and long-term sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead all financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and cash management.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, banking, grants administration, and annual audits.
- Manage employee benefits, personnel records, payroll administration, and HR compliance.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets in collaboration with Museum leadership.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, financial policies, and state and federal regulations.
- Supervise financial staff and coordinate with outside accountants, auditors, and insurance providers.
- Support business operations for Museum fundraising events, facility rentals, memberships, and special programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred minimum of five years of progressively responsible financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, budgeting, payroll, grant requests, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating effectively across departments.
