Duties
- Operate a Hotshot on over-the-road (OTR) routes with precision and professionalism
- Safely load and unload freight.
- Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimal routes for timely deliveries while maintaining adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Transport freight securely across routes, managing delivery schedules efficiently and accurately
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, focusing on manual handling safety, truck loading/unloading procedures, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly for transport, including specialized loads such as dangerous goods or refrigerated items
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance with FMCSA regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving.
- Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading techniques, manual transmission operation, and logistics cargo handling
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking
- Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) & FMCSA.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks required for load & unload activities in compliance with safety standards
