We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to lead our Brain Power and Social Power classes for children with diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing differences, language delays, and other developmental challenges.
This position is ideal for an energetic professional who enjoys leading small groups, values play-based learning, and is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
Key ResponsibilitiesBrain Power Classes
- Facilitate engaging, structured classes that strengthen executive functioning, attention, memory, emotional regulation, and cognitive development.
- Incorporate movement, sensory activities, games, and problem-solving exercises into each session.
- Adapt instruction to meet the individual needs of participants.
- Monitor progress and communicate feedback to families and the COMPASS team.
Social Power Classes
Teach and reinforce age-appropriate social and emotional skills, including:
- Friendship building and cooperative play
- Conversation and communication skills
- Sharing and turn-taking
- Emotional awareness and empathy
- Self-regulation and coping strategies
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Flexible thinking
- Listening and following group expectations
- Self-confidence and self-advocacy
Classes use positive reinforcement and evidence-based ABA strategies to help children generalize skills across home, school, and community settings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with COMPASS's multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate session notes and data collection.
- Assist the marketing team by creating engaging social media content highlighting the programs.
- Maintain professional, ethical, and safeguarding standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Experience managing small groups of children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation if travel between locations is required.
Preferred
- Experience facilitating social skills or executive functioning groups.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and Natural Environment Teaching (NET).
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Creativity in designing engaging, play-based learning activities.
