Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our after-school program. The ideal candidate is a passionate, patient, and responsible educator who enjoys working with elementary school students and can support their academic learning, homework, and daily classroom activities.
Responsibilities
- Support students with homework, worksheets, and classroom activities.
- Assist lead teachers with lesson plans, teaching materials, and daily classroom activities.
- Provide individual and small-group support to students who need additional assistance.
- Explain concepts and instructions clearly and in an age-appropriate manner.
- Use visual aids, hands-on activities, games, and technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Help maintain a positive, supportive, and well-organized classroom environment.
- Collaborate with lead teachers and other staff to meet students' academic and learning needs.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience is preferred.
- Background in education, mathmatics, language arts or a related field is a plus.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students at different levels and with different learning styles.
- Patient, responsible, adaptable, and able to solve problems independently.
- Strong student engagement and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with extracurricular activities, STEM clubs, educational games, or competitions is a plus.
- Chinese language skills are a plus but not required.
