About the Job
We are hiring a reliable and safety-focused Solar PV Roof Lead Installer for residential solar and roofing projects in Fremont and surrounding areas.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The position is generally scheduled Monday through Friday. Because solar and roofing work is affected by weather, project schedules, inspections, permitting, material availability, and site conditions, actual hours may vary and a minimum number of weekly hours is not guaranteed, except as required by applicable law or a separate written agreement.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Solar PV installations for assigned jobs.
- Lead and manage the roof team
- Install and assist with residential rooftop solar systems.
- Prepare roofs and install solar mounting systems.
- Perform roofing-related work, including flashing, sealing, and waterproofing, as assigned.
- Safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Load, unload, carry, and organize materials.
- Work safely on ladders and rooftops.
- Follow fall-protection and other job-site safety requirements.
- Wear required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
- Follow installation instructions and company procedures.
- Work with solar installers, roofers, electricians, and crew leads.
- Travel to residential project sites as required.
Requirements
Required:
- Construction, roofing, or solar experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
- Ability to work safely at heights and on residential rooftops.
- Ability to climb ladders and use required safety equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Solar installation experience.
- Roofing experience.
- Construction experience.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- OSHA or construction safety training.
- Valid California driver's license, if driving is required for the position.
Schedule
Monday–Friday.
Typical hours are approximately 32–40 hours per week, but actual hours may vary depending on project availability, weather, site conditions, permitting, inspections, customer schedules, and business needs.
The company does not guarantee a minimum number of hours per week.Employees will be paid for all hours worked and will receive overtime pay when required by applicable California law.
Weather & Project DelaysSolar and roofing work may be delayed or canceled because of unsafe weather, roof conditions, permitting, inspections, material availability, customer scheduling, or other circumstances affecting a project.
Compensation
$30.00–$38.00 per hour
The posted range represents the hourly wage range the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and job responsibilities.
Overtime is paid when required by applicable California law.
