Job Summary
Join our team as a USPS Contractor specializing in Straight Truck Driving! As a key player in our logistics network, you’ll operate commercial box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations while providing exceptional customer service. Duties
- Safely operate straight trucks, box trucks, or personal vehicles to deliver mail and packages along assigned routes.
- Load and unload shipments manually or with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices.
- Follow prescribed delivery routes using mobile devices for navigation and route management, maintaining punctuality throughout the day.
- Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all driving activities.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with recipients during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns courteously.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with safety standards; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and digital records to ensure transparency and accountability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier services, with a strong emphasis on route driving and manual handling.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations, including manual handling and material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks.
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely using proper lifting techniques; comfortable performing heavy lifting tasks regularly.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving practices on public roads.
- Experience with mobile devices for route navigation and communication during deliveries.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or recipients.
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards, traffic regulations, and company policies at all times.
