The Fleet Manager works closely with our company drivers and dispatchers to maximize expenditures and deliver the highest possible level of service to our customers. The successful candidate will streamline routes with drivers to keep costs down, but still deliver the level of service our customers have come to expect. Our fleet manager will be responsible for meeting regularly with drivers and dispatchers to discuss ways to meet or exceed our established departmental goals
Responsibilities
Ensure that all drivers understand and procure the licenses and permits they need to legally carry loads to customer destinations
Ensure that all load paperwork associated with each delivery is accurate and that the established protocols are followed when deliveries are made.
Maintain knowledge and utilize all fleet information and to forecast new business requirements.
Perform vehicle registration, insurance and CHP formalities and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in to existing fleet.
Oversee routine and ad hoc maintenance, obtain tags for new vehicles and renew old ones to ensure schedule fleet management
Monitor and ensure fleet operation is in compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
Maintain and monitor data management system to organize fleets as per various schedule and requests.
Develop and implement operational standards to maintain vehicles by advocating best practices in the industry
Plan process and execute vehicle purchase and vehicle replacement
Facilitate and implement corrective actions and capacity building to manage entire fleet to achieve company objectives.
Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000 DOE
Qualifications and Skills
2+ years of supervisory or management experience as a Fleet Manager
Provide excellent communication and team building skills to driver and dispatchers
Must be able to work with different departments effectively and efficiently
Must be knowledgeable of DOT rules, Federal motor carrier safety administration requirements, HOS(hours of service) standards and OSHA rules
Familiarity with DOT regulations for drivers
Familiar with CDL driver requirements
Microsoft Office knowledge
Diagnose and repair minor mechanical issues
Knowledge of FMCSA (DOT) Regulations
IRS Form 2290 and MCS 150
Samsara Camera System Knowledge
Verifiable fleet manager experience
