Red Wing Shoes has a rich 100+ year old history with an approximate 40 year presence in the Memphis market. The Memphis Red Wing Shoe Store is now owned by the Martin Family (Martin's - Hope, AR - www.shopmartins.com) with over six decades of experience in the retail shoe business. You get the benefit of working for a family owned business plus having a global company to stand behind you. We also own the Red Wing Shoe Store in Texarkana, TX; Southaven, MS ; Fort Smith, AR; Jackson, TN ; and soon to add Bossier City, LA. We are looking for an individual that would like to train in our Memphis store with the goal of advancing to the store manager position.
Job Description
- Promote and support the high quality Red Wing brand image through professional selling.
- Enter customer information and sales, process payments, balance cash drawer and daily reporting.
- Measure and fit every customer properly as part of our "Ultimate Fit Experience".
- Explain product features and benefits, as well as technical specifications.
- Practice industrial sales lead development on the fitting stool.
- Monitor and uphold company/store KPI goals, sales goals, and other metrics weekly and monthly.
- Very employee friendly store hours & pace: We are open 9-6 Mon-Fri, 10-5 Sat, and 1-5 on Sunday. We have a relatively slower paced workday when compared to many retail environments.
- Near term Store Manager advancement protentional: Store Managers work with area businesses on commercial accounts and full P & L responsibility including controlling expenses, managing account and receivable processes, developing new business, managing inventory, and visual merchandising.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 0-2 years related experience/training.
- Team and collaboration orientation
- Results oriented
- Effective Written/Verbal Communication
- Computer Utilization
- Retail footwear and/or wholesale experience
- Very strong preference for those with 2+ years in supervisorial or management positions
- Desire for long term employment (with a past employment history that supports that)
Compensation
- $15-17 Hourly base rate (higher based on qualifications)
- Monthly Sales Commissions
Physical Demands:
- Lifting 50 pounds, bending lacing shoes, and climbing a ladder.
- Housekeeping duties including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping & waxing floors, washing windows and setting up and maintaining displays

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
