Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) service operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of HVAC system maintenance, repair, and installation projects. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of HVAC service technicians, ensuring timely completion of service calls, repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
- Oversee the diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, boilers, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems.
- Review schematics, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans to accurately execute system repairs or installations.
- Coordinate field service activities to optimize workflow and resource allocation while maintaining compliance with safety protocols.
- Ensure all work performed meets industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes; conduct quality inspections regularly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, including reports on equipment troubleshooting, repairs performed, and system maintenance schedules.
- Foster excellent customer relationships through clear communication and professional service delivery; address client concerns promptly and effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a strong background in HVAC service technician roles.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems repair, installation, and maintenance procedures; familiarity with refrigeration, boilers, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters; proficient in using hand tools for mechanical repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems related to HVAC/R equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional licenses or certifications related to HVAC or plumbing are preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective communication abilities to liaise with clients and team members confidently.
