Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is r esponsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair , and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive , and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform ing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
- Provid ing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform ing scheduled maintenance repairs of production e quipment during machine service
- Perform ing simple machin ist duties and responsibilities
- Perform ing mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting , an d repair of production machines
- Read ing and interpret ing equipment manuals and work orders to perform r equired maintenance and service
- Diagnos ing problems, replac ing or repair ing parts, test ing and mak ing adjustments
- Perform ing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment , and plant facilities
- Perform ing a variety of plumbing main tenance and carpentry functions
- Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters , and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect ing faulty operations and defective material and report ing those and any unusual s ituations to proper supervision
- Comply ing with safety regulations and maintain ing clean and orderly work areas
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and pro duction maintenance experience
- A ssociate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus
- Four or more years of manufacturing experience; strong hydra ulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC ; v acuum f urnace experience is preferred
- Must be highly motivated and able t o work independently
