Activities Assistant

This full-time role is ideal for a compassionate individual who enjoys engaging with seniors, bringing ideas to life, and creating meaningful experiences that enhance our residents’ daily lives.
Our Activities Assistants play a key role in our community. You will interact with residents daily while helping plan and facilitate activities that support their social, physical, and cognitive well-being.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with and lead daily activities including games, arts & crafts, music, social events, and group discussions
- Support physical activities such as light exercise, games, and movement-based programs
- Encourage resident participation and foster engagement and connection
- Help plan, organize, and execute community events and outings
- Create flyers, announcements, and activity materials using Canva
- Maintain and update the community activity calendar using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Make announcements and communicate upcoming events to residents
- Work both independently and under the direction of the Activities Director
- Adapt to changing schedules and resident needs in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- High energy, positive attitude, and passion for working with seniors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with the elderly preferred (at least 2 years)
- Comfortable using Canva for basic marketing/design materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for scheduling and calendar management
- Must be a team player with strong organization and time management skills
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must pass background clearance, TB test, and meet all state requirements
Availability:
- Open availability is required
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed
- Ability to respond to emergency situations on a rotating basis
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the community for extended periods
- Ability to lift and push up to 20 pounds
- Must have the stamina to actively participate in and lead activities
