Summary
The Foundry Maintenance Mechanic must be able to perform highly diversified duties in a foundry environment to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain melt shop, casting, finishing, and facility equipment. Responsibilities include working on furnaces, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, dust collection systems, and other production machinery while adhering to strict safety protocols, predictive maintenance practices, and production maintenance schedules in high-heat, heavy industrial conditions.

Responsibilities
- Maintain production machines, equipment, and facilities performance (Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Availability and Reliability
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
- Perform maintenance skills level 2 (Matrix Skill File) including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and adjust equipment.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report issues or unusual situations to proper maintenance supervisor.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Adheres to training program and any relevant training through the Operations Trainer.
- Perform preventive and proactive maintenance, regular inspections, communicate with production operator and foreman about equipment performance and problems affecting production lines.
- Ability to train and share knowledge to coworkers.
- Other responsibilities as dictated by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- 100% Daily work reporting right information on CMMS (Manager Plus)
- Good communication and collaboration with colleagues working different shifts, ensuring smooth handovers, and sharing relevant information.
- The ability to adapt to varying shift lengths and workdays (8 - 12-hour shifts and weekends)
Education
- High school education or GED equivalent
Qualifications
- As an Industrial Electro-Mechanical Technician, you should have experience with a combination of mechanical and electrical maintenance skills and are responsible for performing routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades on industrial equipment.
- Minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience in the following trades
- Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or PLCs
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work with both hand/power tools and software components.
- Technical knowledge of equipment/machine processes.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory for power and controls
- Wide knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, machine controls devices, VFD, PLCs & electrical components
- Ability to work OT, off-shifts, & weekends
- Combustion processes, burners, valve trains, temperature controllers
- Welding and fabricating
- Refractory and furnace lining.
- Basic computer entry skills
- Health and Safety Standards and Compliance
- Process Improvement Techniques
- Electrical (industrial 480 volts) and electronic controls (VFD, servomotors, proportional valves, electrical motor control, PLC); PLC troubleshooting level.
- Mobile equipment including forklifts and wheel loaders.
- Material handling, conveyors
- Ventilation systems with 50-250 HP motor Bag houses (dust collectors)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Time Management: Effective time management skills to stay focused, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity throughout the entire shifts.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position works in a manufacturing environment.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment in all weather conditions.
- Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally
- Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel throughout shift Able to work in extreme heat or cold conditions.
- Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
- Use hands for simple and power grasping as well as push/pull and fine manipulation.
- Work at and/or below shoulder level.
- Ability to work next to hot surfaces (using proper PPE for hot works)
- Available to work weekends and holidays.
The pay for this position is $35.66 - $38.00. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic locations, skills, education, and/or experience.
