Position Overview & Responsibilities:
As an Automotive Outside Sales Specialist at McClary Tire, you will be responsible for the following:
- Territory - Athens, Decatur and surrounding areas
- Business Development: Proactively identify and establish contact with potential customers through cold calling, referrals, and in-person visits.
- Relationship Management: Manage existing accounts by providing expert tire solutions, maintenance programs, service offerings, and ongoing product updates to fleet operators and independent related repair shops.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct on-site presentations of tire specifications, features (such as tread patterns and performance ratings), and specialized automotive parts
- Preventive maintenance: Develop preventive maintenance solutions which assist fleet managers with ensuring their fleets are road ready and DOT compliant
o DOT certification will be required and can be company sponsored
- Sales Strategy & Reporting: Execute marketing strategies for specific regions and maintain accurate records to track sales goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: Typically requires 3 +years of sales experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in automotive or tire retail.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory due to frequent regional travel.
- DOT certification is required and can be company sponsored
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move tires (30–75 lbs) and be able to walk large fleet lots along with bending to inspect tires
