USD Head Start is seeking a caring, energetic Teacher Aide to join our Head Start classroom in the Tea School District.
In this role, you’ll support a positive, engaging learning environment for children ages 3–5 and work closely with the Head Start Teacher to help each child reach important developmental milestones.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise children in the classroom and on the playground
- Support daily learning activities and routines
- Assist the Head Start Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate practices
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children
Position Details
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
- 9.5‑month position (August 16 – May 31 annually)
- Benefits‑eligible role with the State of South Dakota
Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential preferred, willing to get one within two years
- Experience working with young children required
- A passion for supporting early learning and child development
