JOB The Recreation Program Manager oversees the daily operations of community recreation programs and events, ensuring high-quality and accessible offerings. This role provides leadership to staff and volunteers while building partnerships with sponsors and community organizations. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Oversee the day- to- day operations of the recreation programs and services to ensure high-quality community offerings.

Provides leadership and direction to full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation.

Plans, coordinates, and implements a wide range of community programs and special events, often in partnership with sponsors or community organizations.

Manages all aspects of events, including promotion, staffing, logistics, and budget oversight.

Develops and maintains sponsorships and community partnerships that enhance recreation programs and services.

Recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to strengthen program and event success.

Provides information for brochures, pamphlets, press releases and publications that market programs, activities, and events within areas of responsibilities.

Creates and implements program strategies that expand community use, strengthen operations, and elevate the overall participant experience.

Assists the Parks and Recreation Director/Assistant Director of Recreation in developing, evaluating, and refining policies, procedures, and operational standards as it relates to area of responsibility.

Assists the Director of Parks and Recreation/Assistant Director of Recreation in development and management of the fee structure as it relates to area of responsibility.

Assists in development of the annual budget for programs and events, monitors expenditures and revenues within assigned budgets to ensure compliance with budget parameters and city policies and procedures.

Partners with the City Communications team to create and manage marketing and digital content.
- May present at council meetings as needed.

All other duties as assigned.

Work environment includes both an office setting and work in various outdoor settings.

Some exposure to outdoor weather conditions during the summer season, including heat, wind, rain, and sun.

Flexible schedule required, including evenings and weekends, to attend meetings. events, and ensure smooth operations.
