Responsibilities
- Supervise children and youth during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times before and after school.
- Lead engaging programs such as arts and crafts, sports, theater, or educational games that promote childhood development
- Manage classroom or activity spaces to maintain a positive and organized environment using effective behavior management techniques
- Assist with the planning and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities tailored to diverse needs including special education or early childhood education
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies following safety protocols
- Support children with their social interactions, encouraging teamwork, respect, and positive behavior
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive programs that cater to children with varying abilities and backgrounds
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order while fostering fun and learning
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
- Ability to provide first aid and handle emergency situations confidently
- Background in special education or working with children with special needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Passion for teaching, childcare, sports coaching, theater arts or Christian counseling is highly valued
