Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cafeteria/Maintenance Worker to support our facility’s daily operations. This role involves maintaining the cafeteria environment, performing routine cleaning tasks, and ensuring the safety and functionality of our premises. The ideal candidate will possess state required food handlers permit and be able to ensure that proper food safety procedures are maintained on a daily basis. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills while supporting a positive environment for staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
Support cafeteria operations by maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and assisting with food service logistics as needed.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for school events as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation standards, including proper handling of food and food storage.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff and visitors by addressing cleaning concerns promptly.
- This individual will assist with food service preparation, maintain cleanliness and safety in the cafeteria, to ensure our campus remains a welcoming and orderly space for students and staff.
- Support school staff with basic cleaning needs (e.g., cleaning common areas, light repairs, restocking supplies)
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handlers permit
- Prior experience in food service, and cleaning
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential for effective teamwork and documentation.
- Prior experience in customer service roles will be advantageous for interacting with staff and visitors professionally. This position is integral to maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment within our facility while providing opportunities for professional growth in maintenance leadership roles.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
