Duties
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities including arts and crafts, sports, theater, tutoring sessions, and outdoor play
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions
- Assist with homework help and academic support tailored to each child's needs
- Implement safety protocols such as first aid procedures and emergency response plans when necessary
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's individual development goals
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that encourages creativity and learning
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly preferred
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hiring
- Experience with special education needs or behavior management strategies is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members
- Passion for working with youth and fostering a safe, inclusive environment
