The Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the produce department, including inventory management, product quality, merchandising, and team performance. This role ensures that produce operations align with company standards, maintain high levels of product freshness, and support overall sales and customer satisfaction.

Oversee daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation

Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper stock control, rotation, and replenishment practices

Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards

Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items

Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards

Coordinate merchandising, signage, and product displays to support sales and customer engagement

Review inventory trends, shrink, and discrepancies to identify and address areas of concern

Support receiving processes by ensuring incoming product is properly checked for quality and accuracy

Maintain overall department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with applicable regulations

Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations

Strong understanding of inventory control, product rotation, and stock management

Ability to identify product quality issues and ensure proper handling standards

Experience leading or overseeing team operations in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools

Experience managing produce or perishable inventory

Familiarity with food safety standards and audit expectations

Background in high-volume distribution or wholesale environments
